Before last year's pick of Justin Pugh, the front office neglected the offensive line for far too long and the offense has paid the price for it in recent seasons. Running lanes have been narrow, there's no one capable of getting to the next level to block (aside from Justin Pugh), repeated injuries due to age and wear present a constant need to re-shuffle and disrupt chemistry, and Manning was sacked seemingly every-series. Adding another young, fresh, versatile, and capable body on the o-line will give the team two building blocks they can count on for years while immediately improving their performance in 2014.
Drafting Ebron wouldn't be disastrous by any means; he's a unanimous top 15 talent among the "experts" and would give the Giants a receiving option they haven't had since a young Jeremy Shockey or Plaxicco Burress. What would be disastrous is if they're persuaded to trade down outside of the top 15 for an extra second round pick. There may be enough teams interested in their 12th pick to swap with the Giants in order to land an Ebron, Beckham, or Manziel. I haven't heard this theory from any one, but I give it an outside chance of happening given Jerry Reese's confidence in selecting talent in the second half of the first round.

We'll find out if I'm right in just a few hours.
